My industry experience includes commercial book/job, newspaper and govt. printing from hot metal/punched paper tape through electronic documents, digital media and the web. Work Experience:
- Currently manage Judicial Branch of Govt. in-plant production facility incl. Graphic Design/Desktop Publishing,
P-O-D, Typesetting (SUN/Miles), Telecom., Web & Production Ops. for Court's printed opinions, lawbooks, etc.
- Related duties incl.: acting as Director of Data Systems (CIO) and in her absence supervise up to 42 full-time staff and contract personnel during normal course of business.
- I develop, track and oversee internal print budget of $200,000, excluding personnel costs ($677,500), and consumables. My portion of the budget is "rolled" into the overall Data Systems (FY05 $5M+) and Court budget. Note: Website budget and outsource print budget are separate from print budget.
- Research products/services/supporting docs, issue requisitions obligate funds, oversee maintenance contracts.
- Serve as Contracting Officers' Technical Rep., HelpDesk manager, and vendor point of contact.
- Project planning, staff scheduling over multiple shifts (7-day week), staff training, internal & inter-agency teams.
- Liaise/interact daily with senior level executives, Chambers/Office staff, attorneys, Justices, media, agency reps.
- Serve in advisory technical capacity to Court's Automation Policy Committee - strategic direction for technology.
- Responsible for Disaster Planning for Print Operations/COOP Planning for dept.; also Emergency Court Warden.
- Project manager telecom. for major publishing houses, academia, Federal agencies & national/intl. news media.
- Ensure dept. security and security of confidential Court opinions which can affect stock market.
- Handle Stays of Execution/death cases and high-profile cases (i.e. Bush v. Gore) before Court.
- Overall responsibility for IT & Print data archiving and offsite data storage/retrieval.
- Liaise w/IT staff re. testing/deployment proprietary opinion, and other, software/hardware.
- Advise Director of Data Systems (CIO) on printing policy and matters affecting IT operations.
- Advise Admin. Asst. to Chief Justice on all matters relating to govt. Branch printing operations/production.
- Combined Federal Campaign Chair - multiple years - award-winning efforts/social fund-raising events.
- Conceptualized/Direct Court Lecture Series for Summer Interns - executive speakers

- Supreme Court award for "service so outstanding it deserved public recognition" - presented by Chief Justice.
- Pentagon 911 award for "service above & beyond the call of duty during a national emergency" - SVRS 9/11/2001.
- Government Printing Office Recognition and Award - Hosted GPO Regional Procurement Managers Conference.
