Hey, everyone, the MidAtlantic Region of Xplor International NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Your Leaders are all volunteers. And we are just as strapped for time as you are. Recently, nine of us attended the Xplor International Leadership Conference, and found that there are better ways for us to serve YOU, our members. But we cannot do it alone…
Have you ever helped put together an agenda? Contacted Speakers? Want to do a presentation yourself (EDP Points!)? Able to help out with site selection? Then contact our Agenda Coordinator, Tim Coleman, EDP, at coleman.all@verizon.net. We would like to have people speak at our meetings on their experiences, and can always use help from folks that might know of someone who could fit the bill!
Do you have a talent for writing articles? Taking pictures? Working on designs for the Web? Work in Marketing? Then the Public Relations Committee can use your help! Contact Kathy Rixham, EDP, at kathy.rixham@my.xplor.org. Anything you can do will be a help!
Do you have a GREAT personality? Able to easily email people and talk to people on the telephone? Interested in Xplor enough to help develop and maintain members? Then the Membership Committee can use YOU! Contact Sandy Wright, EDP, at swright@datamatx-va.com. We can use your help in contacting people that have let their membership lapse, or contact people who have attended Xplor meetings in the past and get them to join now…
Have ideas for companies that might be interested in exhibiting their technology at one of our local meetings? Maybe you are in a position to do this yourself. Then contact Barry Lietuvnikas, EDP, at barry.lietuvnikas@baltimorecity.gov. Barry can use your help in contacting our current vendors, and soliciting new vendors.
How are you at soliciting people to run for one of our elected offices (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer)? Or do you have the ability to handle the mailing of our ballots and counting the ballots that come in? Perhaps you are even good at getting emails out reminding folks to vote. Well, if this fits you, then contact Bob (Bubba) Wert, at bubbax@msn.com.
There is a world of opportunity for you to GET INVOLVED! Come to one of our Board Meetings, held the night before our Regional Meeting, and see what we are all about. We really do need your help, and most of all your ideas… We promise to make it easy on you, and not expect too much out of you. Maybe you can give us one to two hours a week to help us out. Read through the next few pages to see what we learned at the Leadership Conference. It will give you an idea of some of the challenges we face.
