Comments from Sandy Wright, EDP--
Joel Powers, INSCI Corp. spoke on the Digital Asset Management. Compound documents, graphics, video/audio files, desktop files all fall into the assets classification.  They bring with them many challenges and issues - they are expensive when purchased, involving a large investment in people hours as well as $s, you need version tracking of them, their file size is difficult to distribute and share.  It has been determined that a minimal of 7 hours a week is spent on managing these resources in the average company.
