"Leveraging Convergence"

Using printers during production lags to do more print on demand.  The quality has to be there.  Lots of our competitors are doing it
Change the Paradigm of Printing!
A statement is not just a list of transactions - its customer contact; it's a relationship tool; has valuable 'communication real estate'; its an opportunity to market
Oce - new 600 dpi high-speed printing (20% faster) and custom tone high-speed printing (40% faster).  And they offer a migration path to color

Comments from Sandy Wright, EDP--
Walter Young, Oce, spoke on Leveraging Convergence.  The convergence is what we have been hearing for years - black/white with color, short run on demand with variable data transaction print. The paradigm of printing is changing from statement is just a necessary evil to a customer contact point so graphics and color are changing to a relationship tool.  This is now an opportunity to market on the statement with value communication real estate instead of wasted white space.  The statement is becoming a revenue center vs. a cost center.  Color shows that cost is still an issue and highlight may be the intermediate step.
